Light caramel
Fingering, 1 ply
56% merino - 44 % superkid mohair
100 g skein, approx. 360 m (394 yards)
Recommended needles: 2.5 mm – 4 mm (US 1.5 - 6)
Sample: 28 stitches x 36 rows/10 cm with 3.25 mm needles (US 3)
This simple yarn is soft on the skin, slightly fluffy, and has a beautiful pearly sheen due to the fine mohair used. The mohair is not brushed, but the simple construction allows the mohair fibers to bloom and form a delicate halo around the yarn. Produces warm, lightweight items. While technically a fingering gauge yarn, you can also knit it as a larger gauge yarn on larger needles. This allows the mohair fibers to bloom and reach their full “fluffy” potential. Fantastic for shawls, cardigans, hats and lightweight cowls.
It does not contain nylon and is not recommended for socks.
Hand dyed with natural materials in small batches.
Each batch is unique, and there may be slight shade variations in a skein. It is recommended to introduce a new skein of yarn slowly by alternating skeins row for row.
There may be occasional excess of color and plant residue.
Photos are taken in natural light, but color may vary from screen to screen or be perceived differently.
Care: hand-wash with a neutral pH wool soap, ideally below 30 °C, avoid wringing and twisting. Dry flat, out of direct sunlight, without spinning or tumble drying (even for SW wool).
